Actor Ian Somerhalder Leaving the 'Vampire Diaries' Due to Difficulty of Break-up with Nina Dobrev?

The Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev break-up story continues with more speculations further igniting the already burning flames. Reports are currently claiming that the "Vampire Diaries" actor might leave the hit TV series due to the difficulty of break-up with girlfriend and co-star Nina Dobrev.

Aside from the inevitable awkwardness between the ex-couple when they return to the "Vampire Diaries" set, Ian's growing acting career is considered another reason as to why the heartthrob actor will leave the show. His current work in the film "The Anomaly" could be the stepping stone for Ian to establish his name on the big screen.

Additionally, Ian Somerhalder has been a top fan-favorite in the much anticipated "Fifty Shades of Grey" movie adaptation and he will definitely catapult into stardom if he bags the famous role of dark billionaire Christian Grey. However, the fans should not be too worried about Ian leaving the "Vampire Diaries" because he is still in contract to work for a couple more seasons.

The real reason behind the split between Ian and Nina remains a mystery but reports are making non-stop bizarre claims. It has been previously reported that Ian is ready to take their relationship to the next level while Nina is not so they decided to part ways.

New reports suggest the contrary where Ian is not in a hurry to tie the knot. In a German magazine interview, the 34-year-old actor even stated: "I would be happy if a woman would just go for dinner with me, rather than wanting my babies straight away!"

The break-up was announced last May but Nina Dobrev appears to be handling the heartbreak well. The 24-year-old actress carries on with her life without Ian, the man she dated for nearly 3 years, at her side.

Nina spent her vacation alone in Maui where she relaxed and enjoyed some personal time at the beach. The actress reportedly looked happy during her stay at the sunny paradise.

In a recent interview, Nina shared that she will be focusing on her acting career and attempt on a modeling career for luxury brand Burberry. "I've always dreamed of being a 'Burberry Girl' but I know it'll never happen because I'm not British. Still, you can't stop a girl from dreaming. And owning way too many Burberry coats!" Nina declared.
