We’re one step closer to the film we’ve all been waiting for. After nabbing Sam Taylor-Johnson to direct, the ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ movie now has a release date!

All of Hollywood is abuzz with news of the Fifty Shades of Grey movie. Everyone is wondering who will be cast as sexy Christian Grey and his love Anastasia Steele, along with one more big question left unanswered — when will we actually see it? Have no fear, the answer is finally here!

‘Fifty Shades’ Release Date Announced

As reported by HollywoodLife.com’s sister site Deadline, the film adaptation of the best-selling Fifty Shades of Grey series will be released — drumroll please — August 1, 2014.
That’s over a year away! The anticipation to see the smoldering Christian Grey onscreen is becoming unbearable.
Sam Taylor-Johnson was chosen to direct the first film of the series, and now that we have a director and a release date, does this mean casting is starting soon? We think so!

Ever since the book series’ debut, fans have been anxious to cast the perfect Christian Grey. There have been many names thrown around as to who should play the sexy millionaire, including Henry Cavill and Ian Somerhalder. Magic Mike star Alex Pettyfer was rumored to be attached to the role, but nothing has been officially confirmed.

However, the book’s author EL James was spotted at none other than Robert Pattinson’s Gatsby-themed party on June 22. Could they have been discussing Christian? Let’s hope so!

Actresses ABIGAIL BRESLIN and NINA DOBREV are among the stars set to be honored for their charity work during a special event in California next month (Jul13).
The celebrities will receive Variety's Power of Youth GenerationOn Awards alongside Jake T. Austin and Tyler Posey on 27 July (13).
Little Miss Sunshine star Breslin will be feted by editors at the industry publication for her work with Project Sunshine, which provides recreational programs for kids with medical ailments, while The Vampire Diaries beauty will be celebrated for her support of human rights organization Free the Children.
Wizards of Waverly Place hunk Austin is to be recognized for highlighting the Ronald McDonald House, which provides aid to pediatric cancer patients, and Teen Wolf star Posey will be honored for raising awareness about the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Nina Dobrev Reveals 'Secret' Destination Following Ian Somerhalder Break Up

Vampire Diaries star Nina Dobrev was in need of a good break after wrapping the latest season of the hit TV show, filming a part in a new movie as well as a rumoured split with her co-star and boyfriend Ian Somerhalder - she headed off to an unknown destination, on an adventure and now the star has revealed that it was actually Thailand.
The 24-year-old babe has been enjoying the quiet life during her time away, after leaving earlier this month, indulging in silence on Twitter for over a week before returning to share some exotic photos with her 3.7 million followers.
In a picture that Nina shared earlier today, in which she revealed that she had been island hopping, she posted a picture of all the tags on the luggage - in which she proudly displays a Canadian flag.
"Yupp - I hear you. And we've been doing that exactly. Island hopping - 10 flights (to this point) 8 cities , 3 continents.... Wooowwww," she wrote on another picture that included the phrase: "Book a ticket and just leave."
Of her luggage, Nina wrote: "Suitcase tags ... There were more that I had to rip off to make room. #backpackingrocks".

But while Nina has been enjoying her time with her brother, and her BFF Julianne Hough and her brother Derek, it's not been all fun and games as her phone was stolen.

Earlier this week, we caught up with Nina's pal Colton Haynes, who confirmed that the couple had split up but assured us that there would be no awkwardness on set, when both stars return for the new series of Vampire Diaries.

Will Ian Somerhalder Be There? Fifty Shades Of Grey Cast To Be Revealed At Comic Con?

With the news that Fifty Shades Of Grey will be hitting cinema screens on August 1 2014, it has now been suggested that the cast of the highly anticipated movie adaptation of the mummy porn book, will be unveiled at Comic Con.
"A reveal of the cast is currently planned for Comic-Con", a source alleged to HollywoodLife.
So with Sam Taylor Johnson taking on the role of director and a release date confirmed, just who will play the roles of Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, with the likes of Robert Pattinson being linked to the roll.
The Vampire Diaries star Ian Somerhalder has also been hotly tipped to take on the role. Teasing the rumour, Ian told the Metro: "It could be anyone – that’s how that goes."
Proving once again that he's the nicest man in showbiz, the actor also insisted that the constant questions he gets about the role don’t bother him. “One can never get bored of people asking about a huge project,” he said. Once again, however, Ian pointed out that “every guy in Hollywood is up for this role.”
Meanwhile, it is still a mystery over who will play Anastasia. However, one actress who won't be taking on the role will be Emma Watson who has openly denied her link to the movie. Taking to Twitter earlier this year, the former Harry Potter actress wrote:
"Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life."
Before adding: "Good. Well that's sorted then."
Gilmore Girls actress Alexis Bledel also dismissed the rumours that she was linked to the show, telling Wetpaint in April:
"I have no idea! You know, I really don’t know a lot about it except that fans have made a trailer online. I know as much as you know. I’ve seen what you’ve seen, and I’ve probably had a similar reaction to yours!"

Ian Somerhalder Almost Killed During The Vampire Diaries Filming

Ian's co-star Nathaniel Buzolic has admitted that a fight scene went wrong between them.
It's fair to say that Ian Somerhalder is loved by fans of The Vampire Diaries so the news that he could have died on the set, may come as a shock after TVD actor Nathaniel Buzolic admitted that he thought his career was over when a fight scene between him and Ian went wrong.
Speaking about the scene with Ian, who is fine and currently in Europe, Nathaniel - Kol Mikaelson in TVD - is quoted as telling Quem magazine:
"We were in a fight scene and something didn't work. For a few minutes I thought my career will end here and I'll be chased by fans of the show for life!"
Well thankfully for both men, it all turned out ok in the end.
The 29 year-old Australian actor also spoke about the fan reaction he has been getting by admitting that he sometimes gets embarrassed when his fans start to cry, He confessed:
"I love to meet the fans. I just get embarrassed with those who weep. I don't know what to do or what to say. It's a very embarrassing situation."

Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Didn’t Wear Underwear in Which Scene?

Well, this is enough to make us blush! According to numerous tweets from Insurgence 5, The Vampire Diaries convention held last weekend in Birmingham, England, Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) admitted to going commando in a certain scene from The CW show.
Fans now have yet another reason to revisit the Season 1, Episode 6 scene when Damon and Vicki Donovan (Kayla Ewell) dance around. Not only was Ian showing off his torso with an unbuttoned shirt, he admits he decided to ditch the underwear, too!
We wonder if Kayla knew that! When ClevverTV asked her about the infamous moment where she frolicked around in her underwear and a tank top, she said, “It was a crazy, awesome scene.”
While Ian opted for no underwear, Kayla went in the opposite direction and went with the most conservative pair she could find! She said, “They let me choose what underwear I got to wear, so I tried to pick something that was more covered. I also put in a request with the director that he could not do a lot of butt shots.”

She's Back! The Vampire Diaries' Nina Dobrev Returns To Twitter After Week Hiatus

Having enjoyed various tweets from Nina Dobrev recently, we were left with a Nina Dobrev tweet-shaped void when she logged off from Twitter on June 14. But just a week later and The Vampire Diaries star is back!
Having been busy with work recently, the actress revealed to her Twitter fans and followers that she was heading off on holiday with the tweet:
"Boarding plane! Looking forward to getting lost somewhere :) packing light.. Playing it by ear. …"
She later posted an image of her sun hat on a table over looking a beach, with the simple tweet: "No caption necessary."

Breaking her hiatus, the stunning actress posted the hashtag: "livinginthemoment" with an image of a saying which read: "Life is for deep kisses, strange adventures, midnight swims and rambling conversations."
Whilst Nina has been keeping schtum on Twitter, her rumoured former beau Ian Somerhalder has been keeping everyone in the know of what he's been up to.
From his time on the set of The Anomaly with new pal Noel Clarke to declaring his love for London, Ian has been making sure we're always in the know! He even revealed that he could have been involved in a airplane crash that happened off Long Island.
Tweeting a link to a story about the crash, the actor who plays the role of Damon Salvatore, tweeted: "I was Supposed to be on this FLIGHT!"

Ian Somerhalder Continues To Have Fun In London As Filming For The Anomaly Draws To An End

Ian Somerhalder appeares to be having a lot of fun in London! Having wrapped up filming for The Vampire Diaries last month, Ian made his way to London to begin filming for his new movie, The Anomaly.
And it appears that whilst Ian has been hard at work getting into the character of Harkin, he has also been having some fun as well after appearing to get on really well with director and actor Noel Clarke.
Posting a picture of the pair hugging it out, The Anomaly's Twitter page posted the caption:
"Thanks for the support. #WhatIsTheAnomaly @NoelClarke and @iansomerhalder on set."
Off set, fans have been able to see Ian and Noel take a break when Ian documented their trip to a sushi restaurant. Posting an image of himself holding a card which reads: "Soy happy together" with Noel, Ian tweeted the caption:
"Soy happy together... Me and @noelclarke hugging it out on the set of The Anomaly."
Meanwhile, whilst Ian and Nina's romance might be over, The Vampire Diaries co-creator Julie Plec has teased that Nina and Ian's characters will "try to make it work" in spoilers for the upcoming fifth series
According to  TV Guide, Julie explained that Damon's and Elena will "try" to make their relationship "work". However, it won't be a walk in the park for the couple as there's a "villain in the midst they don't know is a villain at the beginning."

The Vampire Diaries Season 5 Spoilers: What Shocked Ian Somerhalder?

There haven’t been a ton of spoilers about The Vampire Diaries Season 5, but one is raising eyebrows — including Ian Somerhalder’s (Damon Salvatore). The actor attended the Insurgence 5 convention last weekend in Birmingham, England, and luckily for those of us who couldn’t be there, lots of fans tweeted fun tidbits from his panel.
So which Season 5 spoiler made Ian say “Oh, s**t,” according to the tweets? The one about Damon and Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) becoming roommates! As executive producer Julie Plec explained to TVLine, now that he has the girl — aka, Elena (Nina Dobrev) — he may have to modify his behavior some. “It’ll be a fun dynamic to see him either trying to exercise restraint or not being able to exercise restraint in the name of love of this girl,” Julie says, “especially as he’s got a new houseguest. He’s [living] with Jeremy Gilbert as Elena goes off to college.”
It makes sense. Jeremy’s supposed to be dead, so they may want to reintroduce him to the Mystic Falls population slowly. Plus, the Gilbert house is no more.
The situation is ripe for comedy gold. Damon is likely to get a little testy when Jer leaves his sketchbooks all over the Salvatore mansion and leaves the Xbox on all night. It sounds like Ian is already looking forward to messing with McQueen!

They Want Babies Straight Away!: Ian Somerhalder Admits Dating Is Hard Following 'Nina Dobrev Split'

Ian Somerhalder is one of the hottest stars on the planet thanks to his starring role in The Vampire Diaries and while this means he gets a lot of female attention, the actor has admitted that sometimes it's just a little bit too much sometimes.

The star will soon be back on set to start filming the new season of the Vampire Diaries and has been jetting into the UK weekly to film his new movie, but despite the constant travelling Ian insists he doesn't get jet lag anymore.
“I don’t even get jet lag anymore because I’m never in one place for long enough,” he added.

Vampire Diaries’ Ian Somerhalder Almost a Passenger on TWA Flight 800

The deadly explosion of TWA Flight 800 has been in the news recently because a documentary about the 1996 crash is raising new questions about what happened to the plane. In a chilling tweet, Ian Somerhalder (Damon Salvatore) revealed he was nearly onboard the plane.
“I was Supposed to be on this FLIGHT!” The Vampire Diaries star tweeted today, along with a link to a story about the new documentary’s revelations.
After an initial investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board ruled an electrical short circuit caused the explosion, a decision the documentary is calling into question. In an interview with CNN, the movie’s co-producer Tom Stalcup said there’s "solid proof that there was an external detonation," adding, "the radar data shows a(n) asymmetric explosion coming out of that plane — something that didn't happen in the official theory."
Tragically, all 230 people on flight TWA 800 died when the Paris-bound plane exploded and crashed into the Atlantic Ocean after leaving John F. Kennedy International Airport.
In 1996, Ian was a 17-year-old male model, so it’s possible he would’ve been flying to Paris for work at the time. While he didn’t explain what caused him to miss the flight, he’s obviously extremely lucky he did.
