Nina
Dobrev, best known from the supernatural series "The Vampire Diaries"
is back on the scenes again. But this time, it's not a TV show or a
movie, rather, it's for a campaign that aims to raise awareness for
sexual assault on college campuses.
According to Entertainment Weekly, President Barack Obama's "It's On Us" latest PSA campaign featured famous faces including Dobrev's. Other stars that took part in the video for a cause include Zoe Saldana, Matt McGorry, Minka Kelly, Jesse Metcalfe, Haim, John Cho, Jessica Szohr and Josh Hutcherson. The PSA themes around "consent" to which the famous personalities delivered a message about getting a consent before sexual intercourse. If there is no consent between the two parties involved, it is considered rape.
Saldana closes the video saying, "If you don't get, you don't get it." The campaign was first launched by the US president on September 2014 and has been encouraging students to take the initiative's pledge to "keep women and men safe from sexual assault" and "promise not to be a bystander to the problem," as noted in Gossip Cop.
Dobrev worked with the White House for the PSA just weeks before her former show TVD returns to the television for its seventh season on Oct. 8. And if fans are wondering how the star is holding up, her love life will tell them. Despite the numerous times that she has been rumored to have broken up with boyfriend Austin Stowell, she continues on with her life, shrugs off speculations and just lets what others see do the talking—in this case, letting people see her in a passionate kiss with Stowell in the streets of New York, according to Venture Capital Post.
Speculations of a breakup started when the 26-year old actress arrived solo at the Teen Choice Awards to bid goodbye to her character Elena. Some also thought that they ended the relationship when Dobrev took off to spend some quality time with friends. Obviously, none of those speculations are true as the couple are known to be very affectionate to each other. It looks like they've really found love in each other.
