Ian Somerhalder-Nikki Reed's Marriage Reportedly on the Rocks; Couple Fighting over Decision to Start a Family?

Rumours are rife that Ian Somerhalder and Nikki Reed, who got married in April after less than a year of dating, are already fighting. The cause behind tension in their marriage is Somerhalder's desire to start a family.
According to a new Celeb Dirty Laundry report, Somerhalder feels it's time to start thinking of expanding their family, but Reed wants to focus on her career now. The "Twilight" alum, who just joined the cast of "Sleepy Hollow", reportedly wants to establish a career outside of the vampire franchise before thinking of getting pregnant.
"The last thing Reed wants to do is get pregnant and risk her career by trying to hide baby bumps and turning off potential roles for a maternity leave," the report noted.
However, kids aren't completely off the table.
The actress had earlier opened up about starting a family, saying she would love to have children someday. Reed supposedly has a very strong relationship with her mother, and she wants to have a similar relationship with her children as well.
It remains to be seen if there is any truth to these rumours of friction between Somerhalder and Reed, but according to a HollywoodLife source, the duo had agreed to wait at least a year before thinking of starting a family.
"They do want children but they want to be married for at least a year before getting into any of that," the source said. "Plus they want to be in a place where they wouldn't be filming a lot. So it's been talked about but something that would happen when The Vampire Diaries is officially over."
What's given traction to the baby rumours is Somerhalder's alleged decision to quit the CW vampire drama and look for other acting opportunities. The reports suggest that Somerhalder's latest Instagram posts were replete with hints of his desire to quit "The Vampire Diaries".
Interestingly, one of the alleged reasons behind Somerhalder and his ex-girlfriend Nina Dobrev's decision to call off their three-year-old relationship was the actor's wish to settle down. Like Reed, Dobrev also wanted to give her profession some more time before putting down roots.
