Nina Dobrev, Let’s Be Cops Crew Nearly Hit by Drunk Driver on Set

Things went from silly to serious on the set of Nina Dobrev’s (Elena Gilbert) new movie, Let’s Be Cops. The Vampire Diaries actress was filming the comedy in Atlanta on June 8 when she and several members of the cast and crew nearly had a literal run-in with a drunk driver.

“Real drama on the set of our fake cop comedy drama,” Nina tweeted that night, along with a picture of the scene. “Drunk driver plowed through barricades just barely missing crew members in the middle of our set whilst shooting scene. #closecall #thatcouldhavebeenrealbad #reportinglive #nobutseriously...realcopscameandarrestedhim #DUI.”

How scary! We’re glad everyone is OK and Nina could keep things semi-light with tons of hashtags.

Nina stars in Let’s Be Cops with Damon Wayans, Jr., Jake Johnson, and James D’Arcy. She plays the girlfriend of a guy (Wayans, Jr.) who decides to fake being a cop along with his buddy. Clearly getting into the spirit of the funny role, Nina’s been tweeting silly pics from set. We’re just glad this comedy didn’t turn tragic!
