Nina Dobrev Returns to ‘The Vampire Diaries’? Paul Wesley & Cast Want her Back

The cast of “The Vampire Diaries” reminisced the moments with Nina Dobrev and hinted they desire to have the co-star back to the CW hit series.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the cast recalled the past six years working alongside Dobrev as well as her character Elena Gilbert’s love stories with the blood-sucking brothers, Stefan and Damon Salvatore.
Michael Malarkey called Nina the cast’s “Queen Bee” and said the former co-star is “gonna be missed greatly.”
Malarkey, who plays Enzo, also revealed that he saw Dobrev’s daredevil side shortly after he joined the show in season five.
“One time we were filming ‘Man on Fire’ in Season 5, and we have a kind of fight scene … Nina whispered in my ear right before the take, ‘Actually throw me,’” Malarkey recalled.
Candice Accola said Dobrev, a former gymnast, loves to be involved in the action.
Accola, who plays Caroline, said “One of the things I’ve always loved doing with Nina are the fight scene, ’cause she takes it just as seriously as I do.”
EW shared the interview with the cast that was included in the DVD/Blu-ray release of “The Vampire Diaries: The Complete Sixth Season,” which hits stores this week.
According to International Business Times, the DVD will take fans behind the lens during Dobrev’s final season on the drama series.
Dobrev left TVD in season six presumably because of Ian Somerhalder’s relationship with his now wife, Nikki Reed.
During the San Diego Comic-Con in July, Somerhalder and Paul Wesley have teased the possible return of Dobrev’s character. However, Nina does not seem to be interested in returning to TVD even though her character, Elena, can still be revived anytime.
Since the return of Elena or Dobrev remains uncertain, the show will focus on Damon (Somerhalder), Stefan (Paul Wesley), Bonnie (Kat Graham), and Caroline, iBT reported.
During the TCA Press Tour last month, TVD co-creator Julie Plec said: “In terms of the show focusing on a single character, we are going to shift from that. We finally have an opportunity to show off the ensemble and make them feel more like the stars of their own show.”
Meanwhile, Justice Leak, Jaiden Kaine, Tim Kang, and Todd Lasance will all recur their respective roles on season 7.
“The Vampire Diaries” will return Oct. 8 on CW.
