'Vampire Diaries' season 7 plot spoilers: Damon finds comfort from Bonnie

"The Vampire Diaries" is now on its seventh season and the longing and passion becomes more intense. After Nina Dobrev announced that she will be leaving the show after season six, many are now wondering on how the series will continue.
Damon and Elena were truly in love, but despite immortality, love can never be eternal for the couple. On this upcoming season, the series will now focus on how Damon will move on from the loss of her love, Elena.
Although fans are very eager for Damon and Bonnie to be together, especially now that Elena is already gone, it seems that it will never be that easy for Damon to do so. According to the "Vampire Diaries" executive producer Caroline Dries, Damon will have a hard time moving on and that he will even drink himself up to acquire the spirit of comfort from alcohol.
Despite having a miserable life after losing Elena, the Executive Producer Julie Plec hinted that Damon might later on find comfort and a way to move on through Bonnie. Although the viewers know that Damon is really in love with Elena, he will be introduced in season seven in a different angle. Season seven will show what Damon would do during his spare time and his background will be featured. Incorporating these two is anticipated by the producers to make his character more interesting.
Along with the main story board, another storyline should be eagerly anticipated by the viewers , Crossmap reports. The love story of Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes should also be closely watched since there will be some twists that will test the couples' relationship.
Julie Plec also teased that there will be new characters in the upcoming season. In an interview with Zap2it, she teased the viewers saying, "The 'heretics,' we call them...the three girls are Nora, Mary Louise and Valeria, and they are all amongst Lily's little coven of family who she was stuck in the prison world with."
Also, according to her, the subplots that will involve Mary Louise and Nora who came from the 19th and 20th century will be "introduced to a more expecting time where they don't have to hide their affection."
