A new season for "The Vampire Diaries" means new details about the
show, and one of those says that it will be exploring a bit with time
shuffle.
This is according to IB Times India, with a few characters given the opportunity to show their future selves. This will also be a chance to explain what Elena's friends will have been up to since the Season 6 finale. The show's executive producer Julie Plec followed up, saying that the time shuffle requires a little bit of "picking up all over the place."
Season 6 ended on a sad note as Kai killed Alaric's wife Jo and their unborn twins. He was able to do this by casting a sleeping spell on Elena (Nina Dobrev). Elena, by the way, was seen saying goodbye to her friends in the final episode, asking Damon (Ian Somerhalder) to enjoy life in her absence.
One of the show's other executive producers, Caroline Dries, has a plan for show character Caroline. "(She) will realize that Stefan is an amazing guy, and she'd be an idiot if she kept drawing this out any longer," she says of the series character, who is trying to escape her feelings for Stefan, according to the article.
Pop Sugar's report, meanwhile, gives us more details on what to expect for the show.
It appears that the characters are trying to escape their sorrows. Season six ended with a death and a farewell, and so the gang—Bonnie and Damon, in particular—heads to Europe with Alaric, which is seen basically as a way to deal with the events of Season six's final episode. People will also see what is happening with Damon during Elena's extended absence.
A lot of flash forwards and flashbacks are to be expected, according to the article, while Stefan and Caroline's relationship might actually be stronger, despite her mixed feelings towards having them.
The new season of "The Vampire Diaries" premieres on Thursday, October 8 at 8PM.
