'The Vampire Diaries' Season 7 Air Date & Spoilers: Executive Producer Teases New Timelines For Upcoming Season; Who Is Damon's New Love Interest?

Less than two months away before "The Vampire Diaries" returns for Season 7, fans are being treated with some spoilers of the upcoming season. According to Inquisitr, show's executive producer Julie Plec did not hold back in giving important hints about Season 7 in her recent interview.

Plec revealed that Season 7 will be taking place in two different timelines. She said that these two different timelines will run simultaneously and she described it as "all over the place." Plec said that the show will be picking up a little bit in the future and will be doing a little of time shuffle as the season starts. Although it might sound confusing, Plec said that both timelines are necessary in order to explain where the Salvatore brothers end up in the future.
Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is reported to have a new love in Season 7, but it will not be a new girl. It was earlier reported that Damon and Stefan (Paul Wesley) will be mending their relationship in the new season. Despite Damon not having a new love interest, he will be finding his love back for his brother.
It seems like the brothers would really have to reunite in the next season, as International Business Times reports that Wesley revealed there will be imminent danger for Damon and Stefan. Another problem the brothers will have to face is that with their mother Lily (Annie Wersching). According to reports, Lily will cause a lot of problems for her sons as she tries to turn them against each other.
Lily teamed up with the Heretics as they took over Mystic Falls. She also moved into the Salvatore mansion, leaving the brothers to move to another place. Plec revealed in an earlier interview that the brothers are also torn as to whether they would be mending their relationship with their mother or if they need to take her down.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 7 returns to the CW on October 8.
