In front of 2600+ passionate fans, Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev answered the top Twitter questions about “The Vampire Diaries” last night at the Paley Fest
in Hollywood, CA. The questions were tweeted from all over the world,
and included will there be another Delena Rain Kiss (Damon kissing Elena
in the rain) and will Damon (Ian) and Elena (Nina) get back together
again?
When asked, “Will there be another kiss in the rain before the end of the season?” the answer went something like this inbetween a lot of laughs and cheers from fans:
Ian: “It’s really cold in Georgia so I don’t think that’s a good idea.”
Nina: “We should go back and tell everyone how awful (wonderful) the experience was last time."
Ian: "The last time we were in the rain together it was below 30 degrees and my face muscles stopped and froze…”
Nina: “After that day, I remember sending an email to the writers saying from now on if you plan on writing something like this, you better be on set with us wearing the same wardrobe as us in the rain.”
Ian: “You write another rain kiss, I quit.”
When asked the second most asked question on Twitter about whether Damon and Elena will ever get back together, Ian replied, “Why would you ever wish that on this amazing human being?” When Ian pushed back, there were many volunteers who offered to live with him. He shook his head and replied with a big grin, “Trust me, you don’t want to live with me honey.”
From @IanLover245, the moderator, Kristin Dos Santos, shared this question from Twitter, “she wants to know how many shirts have you had ripped off you?” Ian replied, “Ask Nina…Nina’s just strong. She rips them.”
Towards the end of the Twitter questions, Executive Producer Julie Plec (“The Vampire Diaries”) added, “I think the moral to the story is that your Twitter pleas do not go unnoticed.” And Ian added, “And we love it.”
And with fans tweeting about “The Vampire Diaries” from over 30 countries, Twitter is the perfect connector for the stars, show and fans. Ian’s favorite social media venue is Twitter, and his fans go wild supporting the show and good causes such as the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, RYOT News and the Goody Awards (my company). With all this good energy coming from communities built on #hashtags and @handles, let’s hope they stick around for a long time on Twitter.
